Visiting

Book a visit: Walk-in only — no online booking

Visits Mon–Fri morning sessions only at most central prisons. Visitor lines start at 7:30am.

Country-wide visiting rules

  • · Foreigner visitors: passport mandatory. Thai nationals: ID card.
  • · Dress code: long trousers/skirt past the knee; no shorts; no black or white clothing; closed shoes.
  • · Visit format: glass partition with phone handset. Conversation is in English with foreigners.
  • · Bring small Thai-baht notes for the deposit booth (gift money for inmate canteen).

First-visit checklist

  • Passport (foreigners) or Thai national ID
  • Cash in small THB notes (500, 100, 20)
  • Closed-toe shoes, no shorts, no all-black or all-white
  • Arrive by 7:30am for morning queue
  • No phone, no camera — secure left at gate
