The European Court of Human Rights found violations of Article 3 (prohibition of torture and inhuman treatment), Article 5 (right to liberty and security), Article 6 (right to fair trial), Article 8 (right to respect for private and family life), Article 13 (right to effective remedy), Article 2 (right to life), and Protocol 6 Article 1 (abolition of death penalty) in the case of Al Nashiri v.
