About
Multiple improvised detention and torture sites documented in Izium (Kharkiv oblast) following Ukrainian liberation in September 2022. Centre for Civil Liberties and the UN investigated basements of the local police station, the Dzerzhynska school and other buildings that were used for detention. Mass graves were also discovered near the city. Over 400 graves were found; evidence of torture documented on many bodies. This entry represents the cluster of documented Izium sites.
